Your foundation matters. Let's look at it.

A high-tech digital foot scan takes minutes. Custom orthotics built from it can change how your entire body moves.

The ground-up approach to musculoskeletal health

The way your feet contact the ground affects everything above them — your ankles, knees, hips, and spine all adapt to whatever your feet are doing, for better or worse. Arch collapse, overpronation, supination, and uneven weight distribution are common and frequently go unaddressed, quietly contributing to pain and movement problems that seem unrelated to the feet themselves.

Custom orthotics correct for these patterns at the source. Unlike over-the-counter insoles, which are built for a generic foot, custom orthotics are fabricated specifically for your foot structure, your movement patterns, and your daily demands.

How it works

We use an advanced optical foot scanner to capture a precise, high-resolution image of your foot structure. The scan is quick, non-invasive, and significantly more accurate than traditional foam casting or manual measurement.

Your provider will analyze the scan with you — walking you through what they're seeing in your arch structure, weight distribution, and gait pattern, and explaining what type of orthotic support would best address your specific needs. The scan, custom fabrication, and delivery to our office are all included in the flat fee of $295. No hidden costs, no upsells.

Is a foot scan right for you?

Orthotics aren't just for people with obvious foot problems. They're worth considering if you're dealing with:

  • Plantar fasciitis or heel pain
  • Flat feet or high arches
  • Knee, hip, or lower back pain with no clear spinal cause
  • Recurring ankle issues or instability
  • Shin splints or stress fractures from running
  • Uneven wear patterns on your shoes
  • Discomfort or fatigue from prolonged standing or walking

If you're already a chiropractic patient and your provider thinks orthotics might be part of your treatment picture, they'll bring it up. If you're curious about whether your foot mechanics are contributing to a problem you're managing, it's a reasonable question to ask at your next visit — or to book a scan directly.

Frequently Asked Questions

The scan itself takes just a few minutes. The full appointment, including your provider's analysis and discussion of what they're recommending and why, typically runs 15 minutes.

Custom orthotics are fabricated off-site and delivered to our Harvard Square office. Turnaround time is typically two to three weeks. We'll contact you when they arrive.

No — the $295 all-inclusive fee is self-pay. Some flexible spending accounts (FSAs) and health savings accounts (HSAs) may cover custom orthotics; check with your plan administrator if you'd like to use those funds.

Over-the-counter insoles are built around an average foot shape and provide generalized cushioning or arch support. Custom orthotics are fabricated from a precise digital scan of your specific foot structure and are designed to correct your individual movement patterns — not a generic version of them. The difference in fit and function is significant.

Yes. The foot scan is available as a standalone service. You don't need to be an existing patient or have a chiropractic appointment scheduled.

No. When you receive your orthotics, your provider will discuss which footwear they're compatible with. Most custom orthotics are transferable between shoe types, and your provider can advise on any footwear adjustments that would support the correction.
