Built in Cambridge. Rooted in purpose.
Harvard Square Chiropractic has been part of this community since 2009 — founded on the belief that chiropractic care is about far more than pain relief.
How we got here
Dr. Patrick Doody knows what it's like to be the patient. During his undergraduate years, a severe low back disc injury threatened to derail everything — until a chiropractor intervened and made surgery unnecessary. That experience didn't just shape his recovery. It shaped his entire career.
After earning his B.S. in Biology from SUNY Geneseo and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College, Patrick spent six years practicing as an associate at several clinics across the area. In 2009, he founded Harvard Square Chiropractic with a specific goal: to bring Cambridge and the Greater Boston area something better than the standard model of care.
Fifteen-plus years later, that practice has grown to include a team of providers with backgrounds in sports medicine, athletic training, and integrative health. The goal hasn't changed.
How we practice
We use a whole-person approach — which in practice means we're looking beyond the symptom that brought you in. Where is the underlying cause? What in your movement patterns, posture, history, or daily routine is contributing to the problem? What needs to change for the improvement to stick?
Our providers draw on a range of techniques — spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, Graston Technique, myofascial release, activator method, cupping, therapeutic exercise, and assisted stretch therapy — and build individualized treatment plans rather than defaulting to a one-size protocol.
We also believe in being straight with patients. You'll know what we found, what we recommend, and why. If what you need is outside our scope, we'll tell you that too.
