World Cup Season is Here

Whether you're cheering for your favorite country or watching every match you can, the World Cup means a lot more time spent on the couch, in a chair, at a watch party, or gathered around the TV.

While your favorite players are covering miles on the field, many of us are doing the exact opposite.

Sitting for several hours at a time can lead to:

  • Neck stiffness

  • Tight shoulders

  • Mid-back discomfort

  • Low back soreness

  • Tight hips and hamstrings

The good news? You don't need a full workout to keep your body feeling good.

We know there are mixed opinions about the new hydration breaks, but that is also a great time to move your own body!

Try these simple movements:

  • Stand up and walk around the room for 1-2 minutes
  • Perform 10 gentle chin tucks
  • Reach both arms overhead and take 5 deep breaths
  • Complete 10 standing back bends
  • Perform 10 bodyweight squats
  • Stretch your hip flexors for 20-30 seconds per side

These quick movement breaks can help reduce stiffness, improve circulation, and keep your body feeling better throughout the day.

Remember: movement doesn't have to be complicated. Small amounts of movement performed consistently throughout the day are often more effective than sitting for hours and trying to "fix" everything later.

Enjoy the matches, cheer loudly, and don't forget to move during the breaks.

Your body will thank you.
